MATTED AND FRAMED FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

Slot-Canyon-07-WEB.jpgFine Art Photography

Fine art photography must communicate a state of being that touches the soul.  It is more than a nice “snapshot in time” of a wonderful place, an intriguing people or a beautiful thing.  Through its composition, color, detail, and vision the fine art image photograph must present a “painting of light” that leaves the audience an impression of awe, of wonder, of identification or an affinity with what is being represented by the fine art image.

My images are intended to live up to this high bar of expectation of a fine art image.

When I plan my expeditions, study the potentials of my location, visualize my image planning, select my equipment, and prepare my fine art compositions, I always focus on how the experience represented in the image will touch my own soul.  Then when I capture the image in my camera and process it, I utilize my professional craft in an effort to communicate how I was touched by this experience to my audience so that their soul will be lifted up, or moved, or motivated in some way as I have been.  This is a means of intimate communication between the artist and the audience that is so important to our lives, and without which we simply exist in a world without a window.

My audience tends to purchase my fine art photography for use in their homes or offices so that they may repeatedly enjoy the vision and inspiration they gain from these images.  Or, they may give one of my fine art photographs to a friend, a colleague, or a family member as a gift.  In some cases, my audience may use my fine art work as a part of their interior design for their home or office, combining the color or message of the fine art work into the larger art work of the interior space at their home or office.  In this manner they are able to communicate the message of the greater art work of their environment to those who are experiencing the space created by the user.  No matter what your intended use is, I am confident that you will be fully pleased with the fine art photography I provide you for years to come.

On the web these images are displayed in a wonderful way, but when you see them in a larger fine art display they are simply stunning.  Over the years people who have experienced my images have expressed an interest in obtaining them in a fine art form for their own homes or offices, or to give as gifts.  It is the intension of this webstore to provide you with that opportunity and in a cost effective format.  Though I make these images available in my studio-gallery sales or at shows or through professional consultations, I have developed a "Web Studio" format on this website to provide these images to my audience.  These images are offered in a wide variety of locations and topics, in an attractive form and at affordable prices as “matted fine art photographs” or “framed and matted fine art photographs”.

DETAILS ABOUT THE FINE ART PRODUCTS

Matted Fine Art Photography

Each image presented on this site is available in a matted fine art format.  The mat is in a standard 16” x 20” frame size with an image opening of 11” x 15”.  Each mat is signed by me.  The mat has a stiff back with the fine art photograph professionally affixed between the stiff back and matted front.  The mat is signed by me and is wrapped in a clear-view envelope to assure that it is free from outside dust and moisture until you frame the matted fine art at your own convenience at your local frame shop.  16x20 images are an Open Edition and are not numbered.

Framed Fine Art Photography

If you have made a recent trip to your local frame shop you have found that framing a piece of fine art can be an expensive experience.  There is a good reason for this.  Your local frame shops are normally located in places where there is a great deal of potential customer traffic so that their customers may see them and have rapid access to them, and such commercial locations are expensive.  Then, each frame shop maintains a large inventory of mats, glass, frames, assembly tables, display tables, shipping desks, etc.  Maintaining such facilities is also expensive but it is done to serve their customers, providing them with the ability to wonderfully present their fine art in a fine frame and mat.  I support my local frame shop and appreciate their fine selection of mats, frames, glass and services.  And I use them often.

Yosemite-01A-WEB.jpgHowever, many in my audience have expressed hesitation about the expense of framing fine art and have put off the experience of enjoying framed fine art photography because of the cost.  So, I have searched out locations where I can obtain through volume purchasing a wonderful frame, mat and acrylic [clear like glass/unbreakable] assembly that will set off my fine art photography in a beautiful manner, for a price that is affordable and that can be delivered directly to your home in just a couple of days.  This will allow you to enjoy for years to come one of my beautifully framed fine art images for a very affordable sum.

Remember to Select A Frame!

When you decide upon the image that you want to purchase, be sure to indicate on the "puchase page" that you would like to add a frame to your image.  There are two frames available, one for colored images and another for b+w images.

New-Frames-WEB.jpg

With your selection of a colored fine art photograph I have selected a fine quality fluted woodframe that has a dark walnut face.

With your selection of a black and white fine art photograph I have selected a fine quality black-painted-wood frame that will highlight the image character of the b+w image.

Image Sizes

The mat is in a standard 16” x 20” size with an image opening a standard of 11” x 15” and is signed by me.  It is backed by a rigid board, and is faced with acrylic.  The entire matted assembly is mounted in the frame, and is backed with a dust-and-moisture cover that is permanently fastened to the back of the frame.  Hanging hardware is included.  The entire assembly is fully archival, using Epson K3 Ultrachrome inks on Crane Museo Silver Rag paper with a published life expectancy of over 100 years.

Neither the frame, mat, acrylic, nor backing is available separately from the fine art image assembly--the entire unit is available as a wonderfully framed piece of fine art photography.
